My name is Suzanne. I live in the Bay Area with my husband and two children. We have four for dinner most nights and sometimes more. I love to cook for my family and friends. My husband and I decided, early in our marriage, possibly before, that we would always try to eat as a family every night. We have been keeping that promise, even with busy schedules, and have had some great meals and talks at the table. We also decided that we would not have “kid food”. Our kids eat what we eat – sometimes not everything that is served, but they do try. This blog is meant to be a record, mostly of our meals, but sometimes of the topics that we discuss, because our tradition of coming together for dinner is extremely important to our family. I want to be able to remember it all. I’m sorry that I didn’t start recording it sooner!
Whenever possible, I use organic ingredients because I like their flavor better and like that they are grown/produced without the use of pesticides and other chemicals that could be harmful to my children. As a breast cancer survivor, no family history, I’m also pretty cognizant that “we are what we eat”. I want what we eat to be natural.
Then again, as my husband, S, says, “everything in moderation, including moderation.”
